Mission statement
DIG empowers Deaf and Hard of Hearing government employees to overcome communication barriers, resolve accessibility issues, and promote a fully inclusive work environment through networking and fostering professional growth.
Deaf in Government is the national nonprofit resource for Deaf and Hard of Hearing government employees, family, colleagues, and interested individuals. Our network of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals expands opportunities for business and government partnerships.

Federal employees who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, and Late Deafened.
State and local employees
State and local government employees who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, and Late Deafened.

Our purpose
DIG is a national non-profit organization whose purpose is two-fold. It serves as an employee support group for local, state and federal employees who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, and Late Deafened and as a resource for the government.

Access for everyone
As an organization, DIG is committed to ensuring each person may participate in major DIG events by providing captioning and sign language interpreting services where appropriate.
